(Acropora cardus)

This green acro (Acropora cardus) has a unique polyp structure while compared with many other species of acropora. But like all acros, the bumps or coralites, each house an individual polyp. The best way to tell if an sps coral is an acropora versus any other genus? Look at the tip of each branch. Only acropora have axial polyps, or a single polyp at the very tip of the coral.
